Senior & Dickson have designed and built a cooling fixture to address a key issue raised by our customers—product distortion occurring within packaging boxes. After identifying that flat products were warping post-manufacture due to residual heat and insufficient support during cooling, our team engineered a precision fixture that ensures optimal airflow and uniform cooling. This fixture securely holds the products in place as they cool, preserving their flatness and structural integrity. This is due to cold water running through all 12 fixtures, making sure the products are cooling faster and retaining their position. The result is a significant improvement in packaging consistency and customer satisfaction, with products now retaining their intended form throughout the supply chain.
To ensure the flatness of our customers’ products during the cooling process, Senior & Dickson engineered a custom fixture equipped with four precision toggle clamps—two at each end of the product. These clamps apply even, controlled pressure across the surface, holding the product firmly in place as it cools. This method prevents any movement or warping that could occur from residual heat or uneven cooling. By securing all corners of the product, the toggle clamps maintain consistent flatness, ensuring that each item remains perfectly shaped and ready for packaging.
